Latif Yahia hace tiempo escribió un libro en el cual se basó esta película en la cual el protagonista son él y Uday Hussein, y como lo indica su apellido es el hijo de Saddam Hussein. Todo está ambientado en la época en la que justo Irak le declara la guerra a Kuwait por los territorios del petróleo, y en esos momentos se usaban los dobles de Saddam como de su hijo para que estén en muchos lados con el motivo de confundir a sus agresores.
Dado que Uday tiene muchos problemas mentales los cuales lo hacen un monstruo (no tiene piedad de nadie, es un sexópata, drogadicto y bipolar) decide contratar a la fuerza a un conocido de su infancia muy parecido a él. El problema es que cuando Latif Yahia a la fuerza acepta vivir la vida del hijo del presidente, empieza a ver la cruda realidad detrás de los muros del palacio y también fuera de ellos.
De a poco la moral empieza a carcomer la cabeza de Latif, y con el comienzo de la guerra deberá empezar a tomar decisiones que lo pondrán en riesgo de muerte a él, su enamorada y sus seres queridos.
La película es muy original y es cruel, pero la verdad que pinta un panorama al cual no estaba acostumbrado por mas que uno sepa que los dictadores y sus descendientes generalmente tienen varios problemas con las leyes que ellos no apliquen. Hay escenas muy crudas y violentas, pero creo que agregan un toque especial y lamentable a la película. Mi puntaje es un 7, creo que es para mirar y sacar conclusiones. La película es dirigida por Lee Tamahori y dura 109 minutos.

Latif Yahia long ago wrote a book on which this movie is based. The protagonists are him and Uday Hussein, the son of Saddam Hussein. Everything is set in the time when Iraq has just declared war on Kuwait by the oil territories, and in those moments were used Saddam’s doubles and his son to be in many places with the reason to confuse their aggressors.
Since Uday has many mental problems which make it a monster (no mercy to anyone, is a sex maniac, drug addict and bipolar) decides to hire a known friend from his childhood very similar to him. The problem is that when Latif Yahia force agrees to live the life of the president’s son, begins to see the stark reality behind the palace walls and outside them.
Gradually Latif cant support what is he seeing, and in the beginning of the war should begin to make decisions that put him at risk of death, his girlfriend and their loved ones.
The film is very original and it is cruel, but the truth that paints a picture which was not used for more that one knows that dictators and their descendants generally have several problems with the laws they do not apply. There are very crude and violent scenes, but I think they add a special touch to the film and regrettable. My score is 7, I think it is to watch and draw conclusions. The film is directed by LeeTamahori and lasts 109 minutes.
